Details: 14th September 1918. Age 22. Son of Thomas and Margaret McKillop of Aughareamlaugh Carnlough Co. Antrim. Panel 9. From Katrina Flynn via her mother. "The story told me is that Paddy McVeigh (I Hope that is the correct spelling) saw my grandfather shot by a German Sniper. Paddy said he died instantly. Their Major was on horse back and he was the next to be shot. Paddy jumped on his horse and took command in the field. He was then taken down and lay still as the Germans charged. They ran over him and he had some body and head injuries from their boots. He came back to Carnlough County Antrim where they were all from and as far as I can remember I knew him when I went back to Ireland at 17. My mother also recognised another name who she thinks is related to her step father."
