Killed in action 19/05/15 III. D. 15. Son of John and Mrs. M. Marks. Native of London, England.

Sson of John and Maria, has a CROSS on his grave, but is on the memorial at Sydney Jewish Museum as Jewish. He attested as CofE but there is nothing in his AIF record requesting a cross. IT IS LIKELY, HOWEVER, THAT THE ALFRED MARKS ON THE SYDNEY JEWISH MUSEUM IN FACT REFERS TO 1303A ALFRED S. MARKS AKA NORMAN ALSO KILLED AT GALLIPOLI AND WHO DOES HAVE A MAGEN DAVID ON HIS GRAVE. CWGC will NOT add ‘Marks’ to 1303A Marks as he enlisted under “Norman”.'
