Details: Died of wounds received 17th March 26th March 1915 Age 27 Son of Robert and Harriet Arnold of Chaddleworth Wantage England; husband of Edith E Arnold of 113 Marlborough Avenue Toronto Ontario J45 Sergeant William Arnold of the Princess Pats was killed by a sniper while on duty in the trenches. Prior to enlisting he had been a constable on the Toronto Police Force, and prior to coming to Canada havd been a member of the Hampshire Constabulary and had served four years with the 3rd Hampshire Regiment. He left behind a wife and young child. As can be seen from his service number, he was one of the first to join the colours, enlisting the 26th of August 1914 but only survived 7 months.
