Lorraine Robbins
Hello, my name is Lorraine Robbins and I live in Didcot just south of Oxford. I have been tracing my family history for the past 6 years which has lead to a particular interest in the First World War. I have found 10 relatives of mine and my husband’s family that died during the four years. We visited Ypres for the first time in 2008 and unbeknown to my uncle, traced his grandfather’s grave. We took half a day out of our visit to travel into France to find him. I found his emotional response and his gratitude of the photographs we took totally overwhelming. This made me decide I wanted to do this for other people who may not have the opportunity to visit the graves of their loved ones. I am trying to fit this project in between working full time as a school Exams Officer and my other hobbies of photography, patchwork quilting and further researching my family tree.
