Bury, Lancashire My father fought in the Second World War and while travelling through France to meet him in Belgium I stayed one night in Albert on the Somme and from then on I became facinated with the history of the First World War. I became a volunteer around 2005 having seen a newspaper article and have enjoyed it immensely. I enjoy the meetings and overseas trips and even try to "do" a cemetery or two while on holiday.
