John Edwards
Kearsley, Bolton, Lancashire I was born in Alton Hampshire in 1941. My father came from Bolton Lancashire, hence the move which was during the war. My father was rescued at Dunkirk while his brother John, (my namesake) was killed on the retreat. I enlisted in The Bolton Artillery RA (TA) in 1959 until 1978 which was the same regiment as my Uncle served. I proudly hold the Efficiency Medal and first clasp. I am a member of the "Old Comrades Association" and the RAA. I go across to my uncle's grave each year, and I intend to carry on as long as my health holds.
