13th June 1941. Age 29. Son of John and Janet Hendry of Geraldton Ontario Canada. 31.Â F.Â 9. The following details are given in The London Gazette of March 30th 1943: The King has been graciously pleased on the advice of Canadian ministers to approve the posthumous award of the George Cross in recognition of most conspicuous gallantry in carrying out hazardous work in a very brave manner.
